The Resource A Wild Father's Day.
- A Wild Father's Day.
- When the kids give Dad a card that says, “Have a wild Father’s Day,” Dad knows just what to do. He says, “Let’s act like animals all day long!” They all hop on the bed like kangaroos, run like cheetahs at the park, and swing like monkeys at the playground. Their fun takes them through the day, until a cozy bedtime book tames down two tired kids (and their dad!). “The repetitive style will help young children predict some of the activities, and they will enjoy finding the symbols for the humans on the animal spreads. This is an action-packed Father’s Day addition.” — School Library Journal “Cheerful, upbeat cartoon-style illustrations celebrate the exuberance of the day.” —Children’s Literature “This picture book is a delightful homage to the particular kind of playful parenting that fathers are known for. . . . Howarth’s brightly colored illustrations cleverly show how the family’s imagination takes them from the playground to an animal habitat.” —Kutztown University Review “The bright colors and sparse text make this an excellent book for very young children. As well as following along with the pictures, young children and their parents may also enjoy joining in the fun and pretending to be animals for a day too.” —Children’s Book and Play Review Sean Callahan has written five books for children. He works a day job as a business reporter. He also was the founding editor of Masters Athlete magazine. Before that he was a newspaper reporter in Chicago and Steamboat Springs, Colorado. His freelance journalism has appeared in the New York Times Magazine , Salon.com, and Notre Dame Magazine . He lives in Chicago with his wife and two daughters. Daniel Howarth trained in illustration in college. He then created his own line of greeting cards and sold them personally around southwestern England. Since then he has illustrated more than fifty children’s books including Hoppy Hanukkah! and Will You Still Love Me? He and his family live in a thatched cottage in Devon along with two dogs, seventeen chickens, four ducks, and one wild rabbit
